I got my period when I had just turned 13. It was normal for about a year. Then, for seemingly no reason, it stopped. At that time, I think i was about 127 lbs, 5'7", and almost a C cup bra.
When my period stopped, I noticed my breasts shrank (over a period of about 6 mos, they shrank about 2 and a half inches).
I went on the pill, and got my period back about 8 or 9 months after i had first lost my period. But heres the twist. At that time, I was 14, I got severe anorexia, and plummeted to 86 lbs. Yet on the pill, i still got my period. Needless to say, when I went off, I didnt get it any more. My boobs were nonexistent.
Now, about 2 and a half years later, i am doing great, and am about 109 lbs. I still dont have my period, my boobs are TEENY, and wehn I go on the pill or patch i get hoorible sid effects (mood swings, bloatedness, bitchiness, cravings, etc. ITs like really bad PMS.... constantly).
Has anyone had anything similar happen, or any advice?

My period went away for no reason (that we know of, i went to the OBGYN, she could find nothing wrong) and my blood test now are fine, except for low estrogen.
Thank you very much! :)

the Q is, any advice to get my body back on track, what i should do , my weight, any similar experiences or things i shuld be worried about because of no period and such? Its just a thing that is always on my mind.
Oh, and when my breasts shrank the first time, i lost the feeling in them for the most part. I jsut want to know if anyone knows ANYTHING about anything like this, anything at all. thank you.

It does sound like something is seriously wrong. You probably need further checkups and the correct treatment for your condition. More info here:

Hi trechic27, Something similar happened to my best friend growing up (she was 16 at the time). Her OB-GYN (which was "Planned Parenthood") could not find anything wrong? However, they put her on the pill. She experienced terrible side-effects IE; headaches, light-headedness (to the point of passing out), moods swings, anxiety etc. Well, we were at a "rock concert" one night and she passed-out! Luckily [for her] the man standing beside us was an intern (pre-med) who happened to be studying the field of "Hormonal Therapy". Mind you, this was in "1973" and a relatively new field. However, he found her a physician in town and she started treatments. I took awhile to find the right "dosage", but as far as I know she's doing just fine! So, I guess my point is, seek someone other than an OB-GYN. It maybe a "hormone imbalance" or maybe a "Nutritionist" would be helpful too? Good Luck! XOXO Moonpie

I was anorexic for about 6 months before a good friend got me some help. It took me nearly a year and a half for my body to stabalize and return to normal. You, having been so young, should really consult a doctor. You may have done some real damage to yourself. Remember to eat well, minimum 3 times a day and as for the PMS, your body is changing alot right now and trying a different pill is a good idea. Gyn's don't have this to an exact science,so you may have to try a few before stablizing. FYI, in your mis-20's your homones are gonna go crazy again, so when PMS gets worse you'll need to switch again. Please talk to a doctor about your previous anorxia. I applaud you for coming through it.

look at the body structure of the women in your family-mother, aunts on both sides, grandmothers this should give you a very basic look at your genetic background. Look at old pictures-did any of your relatives look similar to you when they were your age? if so what do they look like now?
as far as birth control and the symptoms you described talk to your doctor and keep trying one til you find one with fewer or at least acceptable side effects. worst case get fitted for a diaphragm if you are sexually active and always use a condom.

I've not experienced your problem but I can say, Go back to your OBGYN!
There are many different catagories of birth control pills, and within each category there are many different types. The solution lies in finding the right match for you (and sometimes this requires trying several different ones before you do).
Have patience and keep trying.

so your about 171/2 yo? as best as I can tell. tiny breast are not as important as your body functioning right with your periods. I know women who were so small they could not wear a bra and then had a baby and her breast enlarged at that time. your body knows when to develop and at what time too! stay in touch with a Dr. about your weight. this could be something else yet to be found out yet.

My daughter-in-law uses the shot and doesn't get a period with it but does gain some weight. Also check with Dr. about estrogen shots.
