If he's come back once, he'll come back again. Is he spayed? If not, and because he's male, he's out on the prowl looking for some action.
He'll come home when he's hungry and when he does, and if he is not spayed, get him done ASAP.

My male cat did the same thing, but he was gone for days on end, than come back, than go out again. He only did this because he wasn't neutered. If he's really hungry he will come back, he knows his home, I'm sure he hasn't forgotten. Just put some food out for him and see if he eats any of it. He could just be getting fed by someone else. And if he's not neutered I would get him done quick. Cuz males don't stay at home all the time, they love to wonder.

dear kikikinky321,
I left to spent the night at my friends house and told my mom to watch my cat. when i came back he was gone. My mom did this two me with both my cats. What I did was go to the local animal shelter. Ask if any new animals have arrived. tell them your story. if you have pictures of him then make posters and spread them all over town. Look in spots that you might not find him in. That happened to me and I found my kitten in my pillowcase. Call friends family and ask them to help you search. Don't loose hope. Be careful. try not to get attached with other animals. I know that Buttercup loves you and will come back. He's safe with you in his heart.
Best of luck to you,
Cloggingkitty

does he have a collar on with identification?
find a photo of him and make up posters, lost cat, description
in detail of him, include any unusual markings. your address, phone no.
post all over. ask around neighborhood.
call a pet fbi to look for him if posters don't work within 24 hpurs.
call all shelters, police, dog pound, and the same for neighboring
towns nearby.
not knowing what happens to a lost pet is the worst thing a person can go through. good luck!

You're just going to have to ask people around the neighborhood if they've seen him and/or post "missing" signs. Personally, I think that people shouldn't let their cats outside. It's not safe out there.

You should hang up posters saying what your cat looks like and a phone number to call if someone finds it. You may want to include a picture. my friend lost her cat and hung up posters. Many people called her.

make flyers and pass them out to the surrounding neighborhoods. go to the animal shelter and leave information about your cat there. also leave a message thing in your local paper under the lost and found section. my cat ran away from the vets (she had just been declawed) and we found her almost 3 months later.

You should be more responsible for your cat and not leave it for someone else to take care of like your mother. Then you would know where it was. If he is not neutered he is with his girlfriend. And he will come home later.

Do you have coyotes in your area? My cat disappears for 2 weeks at a time and just when I am sure the coyotes have gotten her, she shows up and wants to be fed. Don't give up yet, she could still be out there.

If you can't find him. Adopt a different cat. Also you may want to check the SPCA. I went there to look for my cat when she was lost and we couldn't find her so we decided to adopt a new one. Her name is Gerri! She's a tabi cat. anyways. You should try to look at the SPCA. If no you know what to do!
