To get past a writer's block, get a blank piece of paper and start writing whatever comes to your mind - anything, anything at all, for example "the sky is blue and Yahoo too" is OK. Or, get a book and copy some of it, then shift to writing in a "stream of consciousness", meaning, whatever words happen to pop into your mind.
You will find that soon your writer's block will be gone.

First off RELAX, it's not that big of a deal. Get your mind off what you need to write about. By the way what is it that you need to write about? Take a few minutes to clear you head, try some music, or a little t.v. this will refocus your mind elsewhere. this is when you will get the ideas that you will need.

Stop trying, start imagining, the words will come once you let go and live the story.

imagine you are sitting next to a friend and they asked you to explain what it is you are going to write about....if its more creative-type stuff then try to forget about trying to write and focus briefly on something trivial like TV, etc
