Are you most interested in image and moving forward with a new girl? Ask the new girl.
Are you more interested in having a great time and are open to being with your old girlfriend again? Ask the old flame.
Neither of those is the wrong answer or meant to sound like they are. You just have to decide what you really want and what you are open to in the future. A lot of the time, dances and dates lead to more.

I would ask the new girl. That way you are meeting a new friend and you can introduce her to your friends at school. That give her a chance to meet some new girls that she can possibly bond with. Take your old girlfriend to the movies the next day. That why you can spend time with each girl. You can decide if you want to date the new girl or rekindle a old flame.
