I have a male min pin that barks at everything all the time. I have tried everything, telling him no, the beeping collars, the shocking collars, the spay collars, and a remote that makes a silent sound when you push the button. He barks extremely loud none stop, he barks at noises, people, other dogs, other animals, anything and everything. I cant even take him to the dog park cause he will single dogs out and just stand there and pretty much yell at them and he does it to other dog owners, how can I control it?? HELP

I did socialize him when he was young. I take him to the dog park to get use to other dogs and people, we have another dog now, so he's not lonely, we go on walks and go to the pet stores with him, so he has been around other people and other dogs. A guy that I work with has his brother or one from another litter but same parents and his hardly ever barks.

They are barkers. Have you tried taking a spray bottle filled with water and when he barks spray him in the face? It won't hurt him. What I did with my Doberman Pinschers was, take a belt fold it in half and pull it to make the cracking sound. I only did that a couple of times, and now years later all I have to say is "do you want me to get the belt?" I have never hit my dogs and never would. They just know what the belt is and they don't like the loud, snapping and cracking sounds. Good luck with your dog and I know how this must get on your nerves. Min-Pins are really cute.

In some dog breeds it is in their nature to bark. What you need to do is use calm, controlled , assertive voice. Dogs will bark more when you loose your cool. We have a 2 yr old Chihuahua plus we have 2 chihuahua-dachshund mixes. They bark at everything. I trained them to be quiet when I would go "shush" in a calm, controlled tone. Kinda like when you are on the phone and you are being pestered you go " shush". Try it and see. If that doesn't work see if there is an animal behaviorist in your area that can work with your dog. You can do as they others said and get the vocal cords snipped, but the other way might be cheaper. Good Luck

When the your min pin was young did you socalize him with many diffrent sounds, objects , animals, and people ? If not then he may not know what the hell it is and start barking at the object. Dogs that bark uncontrolablly are usally afraid and dont know what do in curtain situations. Get a play mate for him.

choke collar, whenever he barks jerk it real quik. If that doesn't work ride the chain high on his neck and make him prance around for awhile. He was prob not socialized correctly maybe have a friend bring a dog over and he'll get over it?

I have 3 shelties and I have had great success with a spray bottle filled with water. They see the bottle now and they get quiet right away. I hope you have the same luck as I did.

Some vets will debark a dog. They remove a tiny piece of the vocal cord. It does not make them totally silent but it sounds like they are whispering. See if you can find one in your area if it is that bad.

He needs to be disciplined. I'd suggest a water spray bottle. He knows right away that he's not supposed to do that and he doesn't get hurt. It works great if you're consistant with it.

He may be lonely. Dogs are pack animals, don't forget.
