In the past few years I've been canning a ton and have collected SO many jars that I don't know how to store them! I only have about 8 dozen that I actually purchased new (and have the boxes for easy storage) but the rest were gotten at garage sales or were passed on to me.

How do you store your jars, both full of goods and empty? Any suggestions/tips/tricks for storage and organization?

Storing jars that are full is best done in the basement or a cool, dry dark area. Empty jars can be stored in some plastic storage containers you can purchase at most Dept. stores(Wall-Mart, K-Mart etc.) You could also go to a liqueur store and get some of their empty boxes with dividers.

I have in the past found inserts for boxes that fit about 16 jars in a medium sized boxes at craft stores.

Boxes and newspaper also work rather well, just wrap the jars in news paper then fit them neatly in a box

But as long as they are in a cool dry place then you are good; put them in the garage, the shed, the atic, in a crawl space, under the stairs, in an unused closet, or even in the furnice room.

Hope this helps

I get boxes from the liquor store that are from the bottles, and they have like sleeves in them. individual slots for each bottle ( jar) if that makes since to you??? then store them in the closet on the floor or somewhere out of the way
