I frequently use Dave's Insanity products, but I have a best tip for you if you like spicy stuff, especially habernero hot. Try the Mo Hotta Mo Betta Red Savina sauce. It is outstanding, quite hot but not so hot is ruins your dining experience, and excellent on steak. I buy a lot of products, including Dave's, from them.
As for healthy, anything in moderation. Too much or using, say, "da Bomb" food additive as a sauce can be funny watching the macho guys at a superbowl party hang their heads under a faucet, but it can cause severe gastrointenstinal distress, possibly real damage, and you get it both coming, in the middle, and going.
The active chemicals used in pepper spray and found in hot sauces are good to keep you regular and can be used for constipation, but be warned, too much and you'll have a you-know-what fit lasting a day or so. Don't try to drown the heat if you do get burned, but lots of water won't hurt, either. Rice or other starchy foods will best take away the mouth burn. Coming out the other end, however, you're on your own.
Eating spicy foods releases endorphens. It gives you a kind of natural high. I use some powdered habanero to mix into most of my everyday dishes, like scrambled eggs, canned or home made chili, tuna casserole. Again, just use it sparingly until you know your limits.

I just talking from what I know. Some Spices are good for a person's health, there many books on the subject. Garlic is said to lower blood pressure. Some Peppers help Blood Pressure also. I know some of the old people say Chili Powder good for health. Most of these things are not proved as a Medical Fact, but, their results have been recorded, I mean like they know the person may have eaten the spices, but, they not positive the spice or something else in the Diet was the cure? Hope this makes some sense?

Hi, well I would have to say spicy food is healthy, it is eaten all over the world, and I've never heard of a study that even suggested that it wasn't good for you. Don't know about it helping you to stay in shape, but I'm in good shape, very healthy and I have been eating lots of really hot food for many years. (I'm 55 and it hasn't ever bothered my digestive system) Dave's is so hot that it's hard to say it tastes good. I mostly use it for cooking and jazzing up wimpy salsa.

Dear Kitledge, You did the right thing in appealing. It isn't YA that calls it "insulting and ranting" but those who claimed abuse. I would suggest that you first read over the user guidelines and speak directly to the guidelines in filing a second appeal. With a second appeal a human being does read them. You have stated that "based on my personal ... experience" so that is clearly not a rant. I am a NeverBecame but 5 or 6 years ago one of my contacts said he always protected his answers by starting his answers with IMHO. Edit for Troll to Troll: I've been starring lots of questions because I haven't been able to access my Watchlist for months. The only way I can get back to q's for voting is to star them. When talking about types of food consumption, I'll can said that it a common sense answer. Why ! because any food take in large or frequent quantity will definitely bad for your health, thus consume it moderately. Next come age, do not over eat should your age is above 40+. That the words go "eat sensitively".

Spicy foods were popular to cover the tastes of meat that had gone slightly off because there was no refridgeration, spicy foods also make the intestinal tract less hospitable to parasites. Look at the countries where spicy food is popular and you will see countries that would have a high incidence of spoilt food and worms.

Spicy food is good for the digestive system.Whenever I have a cold or flu coming I always have a chicken phall and that seems to cure it.Lightly crush some green cardomon pods in black coffee and that is a very good aphrodisiac. Some spices are also good for lowering blood pressure and blood glucose levels.

Eating spicy foods speeds up digestion a bit...in some cultures that regularly eat spicy foods, they say they NEED hot food or they become constipated.
In any case, it's certainly not BAD for you. I love spicy stuff!

No one can answer your question generally you will have to look at each particular spice and draw your own conclusions.
For example, there is some evidence that black pepper may cause cancer.
There is evidence that spicy food may diminish or satisfy your appetite so you eat less--cutting down on obesity.
