Well, the most obvious is to leave such plants alone & untouched. But if you have to touch, cut, or remove them...wear a long sleeved shirt, long pants, and good shoes (like boots or sneakers), also use gloves. The trick is--not to touch your face or any other area when moving poision ivy. After your outdoors adventure...go home and remove all clothing at the door...shower. Then when you get back to the clothes wear gloves to clean shoes while puting dirty clothes in the washer. That should do it! Good luck!

be certain you're thoroughly coated head to toe once you decrease down the poison ivy. this suggests gloves and socks to boot. once you're performed spray your shoes down with a a million/2 and a million/2 blend of hydrogen peroxide and water. Wash all your outfits in warm water with basically a splash of bleach. Then in the present day take a warm bathe and use Bert Bee's Poison Ivy cleansing soap throughout your physique. Then wash each little thing you touched such as your gloves with hydrogen peroxide water blend.

Know what the plant looks like and avoid it... if you get in it eather rub the parts of your body it touched with rubbing alcohol it breaks apart and kills the toxic oils the plant produces that you have such a reaction too.... or take a hot *as hot as you can stand bath with about a cup of bleach in the water... guys can only really do this... if woman get bleach by there whoo hooo it can lead to a yeast infection... i recommend the alcohol if you have limited exposure... and the bath if you found your self in a feild of the weed :)

Long sleeves and pants, gloves, socks, boots.
Within 15 minutes of direct contact, wash with Technu (OTC at a store), it helps draw out the oils that cause the itching.
Also... if you're having a campfire, DO NOT BURN IT. The smoke can make you break out all over and it is sheer hell.

1. avoid it
2. wear clothes that cover you well be carefull when taking them off and wash them well
3. if you do come in contact then wash with soapy water - i always use cold water, the poison is an oil and i always thought hot water would open the pores, leading to letting the poison in.
