There are a lot of circuit training type workouts where you do a full body workout 3 times a week (mon, wed, fri for example). Give your muscles a day of rest in between workouts. If you want to work out more than 3 times a week, try an upper/lower body split or work a different muscle group each day. If you're just begining, the full body 3 days/week is a good place to start, as it gets you in the habit of exercise.

Only work out three times a week means only work out three times a week. That's pretty straightforward. And you shouldn't do a '3 day workout' (you aren't serious, are you?) nor should you work out three days in a row.
The routine is you do a hard workout one day. The next day you do some gentle stretches. The third day is a hard workout. The fourth day is stretches. The fifth day is a hard workout. The sixth day is stretches. The seventh day is a day off.
Muscles (note spelling......) take up to 48 hours to heal properly after a hard workout.

Muscles.

Yes, you can work different muscles. If you do legs one day, then the next do chest. The next day do back, the next day do arms. Try and work totally different areas each day.
