Be creative! The first step in small children is to make learning fun. Get a book on shapes and read to them, show them the pictures. You should make every child in your class a paper with different shapes on it. You can draw them yourself or use things around the house ex: (like a can good/cup for a circle anything.)Give them colors to color their papers of shapes. They will enjoy that. My children are in daycare Their teacher does this also you could take the color paper and cut out diff shapes let them glue the diff shapes on to the colored paper then let them color their own any color they want. Name the paper (shapes ). Good luck they will have a lot of fun my children do.

Go to google and type in pre-school lesson plans...9 million sites will appear. I like the discover site and eduworld, but there are many excellent free sites with great ideas. Good luck.
