What's the cause of whiteheads? Understanding the difference between blackheads and whiteheads
Like blackheads, these are caused by accumulation of hardened sebum or oils, in the pores of the skin. The difference is that in areas where the skin is fine and delicate, the clogged grease is not exposed to air. Oxidization does not take place and does not darken the tips as on case of blackheads. The whiteheads appear in the form of tiny, pearly, white raised spots. They are common on the area just above the cheekbone, nose, or where the skin is fine.
Removing Whiteheads
1. Exfoliate the whitehead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs. Here is a good SCRUB for you to help you to get rid of whiteheads
2. Use creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells, and helps in unclogging the pores to remove whiteheads.
Dealing with Whiteheads - A word of caution
Never remove a whitehead forcibly; because in case of whiteheads the pore is not open. Forcibly removing a whitehead can damage the skin tissue and spread infection.
More tips on whiteheads
1. Drink lots of water and fresh juices.
2. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
3. First thing in the morning - Have a glass of warm water with the juice of lemon. It helps in detoxifying the body.

salicylic acid astringent on a cotton ball. rub 20 times. you may follow up with some tinted anti-acne cream like Clearasil or something. If you do decide to pop it yourself instead of getting a facial I'd strongly recommend to do it at nighttime just before you go to bed. Thoroughly sterilize the area, then apply heat such as a hot towel like those they give out on the planes or steam for 10 minutes. after wards place a band aid over it and go to sleep. if you are prone to infection you might benefit from a small amount of antibiotic.

In the bath department at the store get a rough scrubbing mitt. Use it every time you bathe.
My husband had them on his face for years, all it takes is thorough scrubbing your face to open the top of the pores. If you are diligent they will go away.
Its good to stand under really hot water to heat up your face and soften them first.

Try Clinique. Go to your Clinique counter, and they'll skin type you and you can buy their Acne Solutions System, or the 3 step, depending on how bad you have it.
