My cat will jump onto the kitchen sink and meow until either my husband or I come and turn on the faucet for him and he will drink from the faucet for 5min or more. And his water container is less then 2 feet away from the sink? Is that crazy or just spoiled?

My cats all do the same thing. In fact they also drink out of the toilet. Some cats just prefer to have fresh running water. My oldest cat actually puts his head under the faucet, and licks the water out of the shower. So no, not crazy, just spoiled , but arn't they all? lol.

When I was a teenager, my then cat, Matou le Grieze would jump on mom's washer, walk across it, the dryer, the stove and the drainboard to the sink (did it the same way EVERY time) and then turn the water on...and play with it. Mom used to say she didn't mind him doing it, she just wished he'd turn it OFF when he was done! He'd also steal 1 chunk of dogfood kibble and play with it all over the hardwood floors...you could hear him on all 3 floors of the house! My Baby now will shake his paw at the water dish and then go to the commode and drink... he thinks it's fresher, I guess. I've never had one that wasn't spoiled. That's half the fun of the cat!

Yeah,my cat does that too!
But since we've FORBID her to be in the kitchen, she's usually in the master bathroom.
It's not crazy, but a bit spoiled!
I know, I think they like fresh water.
Just cats.

I say it's normal. Look at wild cats. They do it too. My kitten always drank from the sink and then she would take a bath and sleep in the sink. When it rained she would beg to go outside.

Some cats do love water. My friend has a cat that goes in the shower with her.

My cat is the opposite. Believe it or not she won't even drink water. I have to put it in her food.

Mine don't do that, but I have one of those fountain-style water dishes with the pump and reservoir, and one of the cats likes to drink directly from the running water that flows back into the dish.

I think it's something like a behavioral artifact from when cats were wild, and drank from running riverbeds and waterfalls.

Spoiled...but my cat goes into the bathtub after someone showers to drink the water from the tub floor. It is gross and I even caught him on the toilet drinking from there too...My cat is weird too.

as quickly as I commence pouring a bowl of cereal, my cat knows that the milk comes next. She is on me till now I even get the milk out of the refrigerator. I basically provide her a tiny bit on condition that i understand it is not reliable for her. I oftentimes heat it a splash interior the microwave first and she or he dances at my ft on the same time as that is working. as quickly because of fact the beeper is going off, she runs to her feeding spot. sometimes she would not even drink it. it style of feels as though she in simple terms likes going interior the path of the motions. Gotta love 'em!
