I don't really know the best thing to advise but I would tell mom anyway and then ask your teacher to ring her so that you'll have the support. However, if you think it better, ask your teacher to phone your mom first. Either way, you must start talking to someone you trust about this and see a doctor as well. If it's any comfort, millions of people suffer from this at any one time and I've had it myself in the past.

Guess What?

If you don't have a history of depression on either side of your family chances are good that it's not an Organic disorder. I mean you can be depress, but it isn't something that your going to need medication for. Actually you would have a better Idea of something being wrong. Your Mother would have already suspected something!

So relax! You can be depressed by staying indoors to much! Not eating enough! Watching to much TV!.....

If you think your depressed, go ask a Physician and see what he/she thinks!

I have problems with depressions and antidepressants dont seem to work for me. They do a bit but you have to want to be better. Think of all the good things in your life..the fact that you do have a mother around, and other things in that nature, and stop focusing on the bad things and it is very hard to do I know!

I went through the same thing....didn't know what was happening to me, had people telling me what they thought it was, come to find out i went to the doctor and he put me on zoloft for anxiety/depression. if you think you may be suffering from depression, i think it would be best for you to go immediately and talk to your doctor. you can't help the way you feel, but there are ways to help the situation....tell your doctor the way you feel and you and him together can decide what's best for you!! trust me, you're not alone....hang in there, things do get better :)

Make the appointment yourself. You're old enough. You don't need mom to do it.

Remember, the antidepressants are only part of it. You have to go to counseling, too.

Talk to a professional. You can start with your school counselor.
