Shouldn't it be wrong for a PERSON to hit a PERSON?
I think the idea of not being able to hit a woman is sexist. Either hit no one, or hit whomever you feel like: male or female.

Your thoughts?

No it is not a sexist question Typically men have more muscle mass and strength than women. Following your line of logic are you going to say it is ageism to say you can hit a child or an elderly person but not an adult??? Very flawed logic. Of course no one should hit anybody. Why don't you simply make that assertion and leave the rest of this nonsensical argument alone?

It is wrong for any person to hit another person. Violence is always wrong. You hear more about it being wrong for a man to hit a woman but that's probably because it happens more often than the other way around and also men are usually bigger and much stronger than women so they would get hurt more.

Well other then needing to respect women and shy of having to protect yourself, women for the most part are smaller in frame and don't develop the muscle that men typically form. Althoough some women do, regardless for a man to hit a woman is a action that is use to manipluate, intimidate and control a woman, or anyone for that matter.

And the other prevailing reason is if you hit a woman and your mother found out she would KICK YOUR ***!

It should be wrong for a person to hit another but violence is easier to understand than compassion or compromise. Men shouldn't hit women period. They are physically stronger and can do more damage then good when they do. Specially if they're doing it out of anger.

1. Bobby, get an Avatar.

2. Physical violence is totally unacceptable by anyone.

3. It has nothing to do with sexism. It's a infantile way of responding to frustration, or problem solving.

4. Avoid violent people. Serious emotional developmental stages have been missed with the violent person for coping with the the harsher sides of reality, or what slights they imagine have been inflicted upon them. These people conduct their lives on a very base level.

5. Surround yourself with good people and good things will happen.

Good Luck and Warm Regards.

Its wrong for a man to hit a woman, cuz hes much stronger than her. BUT a woman shouldnt be hitting a man either. Its abuse either way.

If a man hits a woman it is against the LAW. He is known as an abuser. A strange man wouldn't come up to a strange woman and hit her. So usually these are domestic disputes between boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife. The woman might die of this domestic dispute.

because socially and historically, and almost universally, men have been, are, and continue to be in the OPPRESSOR group, meaning they have advantages of power, strength, authority and money. socially and historically, women have been OPPRESSED by men.

men also in general are much physically stronger than women, and are socialised to be much more aggressive, giving them two distinct physical advantages over women.

and yes, if you know even just a bit about law, you will of course know that it is just as illegal for a woman to physically abuse her male partner as it is for a man to physically abuse his female partner.

the reason you hear about men hitting women is that it is a pronounced and very serious social problem. if women were habitually abusing men, then we would have social services and ad campaigns geared towards stopping abuse against men. but it's highly uncommon.

it is not right to hit anybody, i agree with you there. but it is very dangerous to minimise the problem of abuse against women. you must think about it in depth, read some case studies about it, question it. it's not ok to just ignore it or minimise it.

ok?
ok.

Parents are wise to teach to their sons the following phrase: "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned."

If a man were to hit a woman, he would pay dearly for it the rest of his life. She would scream that it was attempted rape, tell the police she feared for her life and he would be incarcerated, fined, identified as a sexual predator and without further events, would have to register his identity, location and place of employment to the local police department. Society generally doesn't care what the details of the incident were - they just go along with the rest of society and see the man as a sexual predator and wsill keep their children and daughters away from you.

Wouldn't it have been better to hit a punching bag?

Your right no one should hit anyone. but since we do people say that a man shouldn't hit a woman because men are supposed to be stronger. doesn't mean they are but thats how society sees it.
