I'm not fighting.
The subject matters because belief and religion and the actions of followers influence my life no matter what I believe or don't believe.
People don't limit my rights because of Santa. People don't look at me like I'm either insane or evil because I don't believe in Santa. People don't make all sorts of nasty assumptions about me based on how I feel about Santa. The concept of Santa doesn't encourage closed-mindedness and willfull ignorance and cognative dissonance.
I would NEVER suggest that a lie couldn't impact the world in a significant and dangerous way because obviously IT CAN. That's why I care.

Santa's followers aren't trying to get their Give Presents and Be Happy creed placed on the public school curriculum, therefore Santaism doesn't need to be fought.
The Easter Bunny has never sneaked a Ten Commandments carving into the Alabama Supreme Court under cover of darkness -- in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution -- so Bunnyists don't need to be fought, either. (Look it up if you don't believe me -- this was Judge Roy Moore's most infamous stunt.)
Lucky the Leprechaun has never advised the President to send soldiers into harm's way because "this is what Lucky wants me to do." This means that Leprechaunism is no threat, either.
I don't care what anyone believes -- but when your beliefs are used as justification for war and criminal acts and telling lies to children, then you'll be hearing from me.

If people were trying to have the myth of Santa taught in science classes, I would fight that. If I saw that Santa believers were a persistant force tearing down the basic freedoms of our culture, I would fight that. If I saw that people were claiming that disbelief in Santa makes someone immoral, I would fight that. I don't see that. But I do see all of these things from God-believers.

Are you saying Santa doesn't exist? How dare you insult my faith in Santa! Next you will offend the tooth fairy!
Nature is God accept it. Why would God create a mixed bag of s"it like whats happening. God is a collective consciousness. That's as far as it goes.

Santa Claus is a fun tale for kids, and Christmas festivities can be enjoyed regardless of one's religious views. The more salient question is: why believe in a god when it can be proven that such a belief is useless? It's a waste of time and mental energy. Note that I do not claim that it is possible to prove that god does not exist -- only that it is of no use to suppose that god does.

Because there aren't any laws being passed to favor belief in Santa. You don't have people fighting wars because they disagree about who Santa thinks has been a good boy or girl.

I don't see much "fighting" among atheists, but your assertion is a fallacy because most people don't believe in Santa Claus. On the other hand, a significant portion of the earth's population professes belief in a deity of some sort.

To ronin
You have answered some of your own question/statement.
" it p**** me off when they tell some woman in the pregnancy section who asks if abortion is an option"
Just asking a question and not trying to make you mad.
Do you consider that unborn baby only an option?. It deserves a chance at life too. What if your mother had considered you an "option"?
Also,
"What about the women who can't get pregnant? What about those who need expensive and extensive medical intervention to get pregnant?"
There ya go....the answer to your own statement......
These women would give their right arm for that aborted baby

Because many xians are trying everyday to have their agenda pushed down my throat. To ban abortion, morning-after pills, HPV vaccinations, gay rights, etc... So they have lost their immunity from criticism and ridicule (if they ever had one which the crusades and inquisition would preclude).
And it p**** me off when they tell some woman in the pregnancy section who asks if abortion is an option that god gave her that baby. It ENRAGES me to read that shite. What about the women who can't get pregnant? What about those who need expensive and extensive medical intervention to get pregnant? That is highly insulting, condescending, and idiotic. So I vent my spleen at those xians, yes.

Hi - Most atheists are lovers, not fighters. However, in truth, some just like to be pains in the butt.
That, not withstanding, the only thing that gets atheists angry is when religious people try to take over the country, tell us that we are idiots who are going to burn in hell, try to save us, try to destroy science and/or force us to look at Crosses and nativity scenes on publicly owned land.
Tolerance is, unfortunately, a rare occurrence these days.
