best boxing bag i ever saw was one filled with leather scraps it weighted it but was still punchable and kick-able . best suggestion is buy an empty bag and make your own filling child's play bags of sand are also a good idea for filling and cheaper than an already filled bag, the heavier the filling the more power build up in your arms and legs you ll get, lonsdale do a good leather outer bag but try e bay first before paying a brand new price .

If you are not really serious about that then you should go to your local fire house and ask them for two sand bags, split them and stitch them together to make one slightly larger bag, or just use one sand bag. Then go to Home Depot or Lowes and go to the construction materials department and get several bags of the cheapest sand they have fill up your bag and hang it up somewhere safe and bang away. If its swinging your not hitting the back correctly. Use a short tight jab or a short hook to the body. This way you wont have to spend a lot of $$$$ until you get the hang of it and can go to the local sporting goods store an buy as real heavy bag.

Argos do a punchbag stand for about 100 quid and a bag for 60 quid as well.Suggest you fill it with sand as this will give it more "presence" and you'll really feel you've hit it..
The stand/bag is made by a company called BBE .

I'm gonna be really sad now..You can find them in the Autumn /Winter catalogue pge 1264 ( sports section) or check out their web site ..

Enjoy

argos is best bet.

thing is tho - if you're making it swing, then you're not doing it right - sorry!
The point is to be quite close to the bag & punch strongly so that the bag absorbs the blow.
Rather than focusing on which bag - I would recommend you focus on getting the right gloves & making sure your punching technique is good........otherwise you could really hurt yourself (even on a bag!)
