I've heard of 12 tribes or royal bloodlines and stuff. But I was thinking about genetics also. Are some humans born with a "chosen" gene(Not necessarily "chosen", but somehwat)

This isn't meant to speculate on any chosen people, I'm actually more interested on the genetic side and a "better human" it seems someone or somebody is looking for?

God is the best geneology to be born of (through faith in Jesus Christ).

Well Judism is based on the descendants of one individual, Abraham. Technically you are only a true Jew(more accurately an Israelite) if you can trace lineage back to Abraham.

Believe it or not there are people who can.

As far a superior genetics the modern Jew's lineage has been infused with enough out of the tribes marriage that the blood line is far from pure.

The only documented excelence of Abraham is faith. Longevity is possibly genetic and Abraham and Sarah lived to be quite old but alas there are no current cases of people giving birth after 90 and living much longer than a century.

God's concept of a "Master Race" is a race of the faithful. This is not genetic.

It's a way of maintaining power by showing continuity. Since it's hard to prove divine credentials with nothing more than some sort of ambiguous sign, bloodlines are often substituted.

It is interesting that the Hebrew Bible disputes this assumption. Many stories demonstrate a divine preference for the unobvious heir. Isaac was chosen over Ishmael, Jacob over Esau, Joseph and David over their older brothers. Still, they were all direct descendants.

The Christian Testament offers a stronger condemnation of blind dynasticism ("Whoever loves [family] more than me...") but old habits die hard.

I am a genealogist and I do not consider the biblical lineages as nothing more than here say. To prove your genetic line requires proof.. and more than one piece. It requires extensive documentation from as many sources as possible to corroborate what is said. That lineage only gives itself therefore has no real evidence to back it. There is no way of knowing if those are correct lineages.. you have to take it on faith. Genealogy is about finding your correct ancestors through documented proof.

Just the Mormon Organization today is concerned with genealogy. The Jewish people used to be also but, not so much anymore but, the Mormons go back and baptize dead people from their family that haven't been baptized in their belief.

Previously mentioned above is Judaism. You are considered Jewish if your mother is Jewish...if it's just your father, then you are not.

So, I am Jewish because my mom is, and Catholic because I was baptized as such due to my dad's side of the family being Catholic. As for me? I'm a theist who leans toward Taoism. *grin*

It's because they are trying to fit their wannabee prophets into the prophecied bloodlines. Also, people like to be part of a "chosen" people.

My religion focuses on Jesus. God should be the focus of every religion not geneology. I'm not sure I know what you are talking about.
