My 4-year-old has had very swollen lymph nodes under her chin and a low grade (99-100) fever for over 2 months. During this time, she has also come down with several higher fevers (102, 105), strep, etc., but she never seems to get well. We have taken her to the doctor over 10 times in the last 2 months, but just feel like our concerns are not being addressed (our insurance only has one pediatrician that accepts it in Charlotte, NC). Does anyone have any ideas on what it could possibly be? Her white count was high last week (around 15) when her fever spiked to 105. She has also had 2 rounds of antibiotics. We are taking her back to the doctor tomorrow, and wanted to have some specific disease states/tests to suggest to the doctors. Thanks!

It is funny you mention MRSA, because her Aunt (my wife's sister) has been having regular boughts of this infection (she is a teenager).

She has an infection somewhere, she needs her blood count checked asap. My moms friends daughter did the same and almost died of a kidney infection

P.S try the emergency room, if your insurance wont let you get a 2nd opinion. I'm sorry but i would not let that stop me. Doctors get in the habit of seeing the problem at hand and not wanting to do further test, antibiotics can't be good on the poor thing! I will keep you guys in my prayers

well, that is puzzling. if the doctor hasn't drawn blood cultures, I would want those done. and throat swab for strep.
with the elevated white count and fevers, the poor child has an infectious process going somewhere.
Oh, should probably culture her stool as well.
She may have MRSA or even VRE. Tho' I am not sure where she might have picked them up, unless she goes to a daycare or something like that.

Have you tried allergy testing. My boy would get the allergy, to whatever, pollen, mold, etc, then when his body was fighting off the allergens, an infection would take over. He did not have a well day until he was about 10. That might be one thing to try. Sounds like she has good parents to be so concerned.
