The guys are right - have plenty of fuel / water , in car music!, enjoy the ride and remember - "SLEEP KILLS"

If your on a budget stock up on tinned and dried foods in Perth, as they get a bit expensive as you head north.

If you have a camper pick up the
"Western Australian guide to FREE roadside camping"

& most importantly 5 o'clock is Beer o clock - so get off the Bloody road!!

at the tourist office - costs five bucks but has some cool locations, some with fresh water, Gas BBQ's and some even have a composting toilet.
You might think its gross, but there is a lot of road between 'commercial' campsites and many of these free ones are in great locations, 10-25 mins from the highway, but they're FREE......

Places/ Things to do???
Stay a night or so on Rotto Island , Perth - & Chill ax

Get to the Pinnacles at EXACTLY dawn!
Otherwise you end up with people walking all around your photos of some VERY dramatic scenery!
Then breakfast at the clear waters of Hangover bay just up the road.( if you see a London Irish Jersey please send it back to me!)
Take in Hamelyn Bay & the pools if you are into old rock formations which initiated life on earth. ( Please note - they DO NOT give interviews!!)

Forget staying overnite in Monkey Mia! - Unless you really love dolphins, and have never stood on the beachshore with 400 other people waiting to see them come in and be fed by the marine biologists who have been studying them for god knows how long. Touristic is not the word
Check the map, there is a town at the other side of the bay where the dolphins hang out when they are not actually in the Mia- cant remember the name, its small but sufficient!

Coronation Beach - FREE camping & gas BBQs
Quobba Quobba roadside campsite - $5 per van per night

And most importantly - 5 O'Clock is Beer O'Clock, SO
GET OFF THE ROAD

Just drive! I did this a few years ago, margaret river is so beautiful. If you get a chance try and get to a place called "Hamlyn Bay" on the way. Its just a tiny campsite at the end of a road right on the beach but its one of my favourite places in the whole world!

Anyway, I digress...

You'll go North from there (route 1 I think) to Monkey Mia. Monkey mia is more of a resort than a town. Its just one hotel with the beach and the dolphins, but you have to pay to get a day pass in there. We stayed in nearby Denham (bout 20 min drive) there is a nice camping ground there.

Have fun! Say hi to it all from me! Im very jealous.
