They are simply people that WANT to kill, the NEED to kill and they have found a way to do so legally and never be considered a criminal for doing it. They are even praised by others. How cool is that for them, that they can Kill with the sanction of the state and have people cheer when they do it...talk about power...more importantly talk about being above the law...

Why wouldn't someone take the job,I personally would not lose a minutes sleep as an executioner. The people the executioner is called upon to kill are the detritus of society,we are better off without them,it's called justice.

some people would not be afraid to perform these duties and as long as the state condemned the person then why not? after all the person committed the crime by breaking the laws rules and mores of the society in which they lived so they exhibited deviant behavior and need to be punished to the extent set by the society.

Here in Texas the person pulling the 'lever' doesn't not know if they are the one administering the lethal substance.....there are 2 or 3 men who all switch on the fluid one is saline and the other is the lethal substance(can't remember what they use) They dont know who has which so they don't know who 'had it' so they do not have to feel so guilty about taking a human life

It needs to be done, but most of them(not all) have a tendency to kill-at least they harness it properly.

It must be a hard job...I couldnt do it. I am sure most of them dont actually enjoy it like they portray in movies and such....at least I hope not.
