Well I would say most people answering this haven't understood the question.

I guess the lady asking has a few extra pounds and want's to know does this put people off her?

Well, the honest answer is, it's one of many many many considerations. And like it or not, everybody does care about appearance to some degree. Some people care less than others but there's a lot more to a person than that.

So if you see it as a fault, (sounds like you do), you honestly have nothing to worry about if you make up for it in warmth, character, charm etc

No. Not if they are slightly fat in one area. Especially if you don't know the person. I dated a guy who was really thin, but had a slight pudge right at his stomach. Turned out he was diabetic, and that was from the insulin shots swelling his abs or something like that. You just never really know. Besides, that is insanely shallow. I could see not wanting to date someone who was like 100 pounds overweight and ate junk food all the time, because if they don't even like themselves, how is anyone else supposed to see what's good there? But if the person is a good person, that should be all that matters. Look at the heart, not the scale. A slightly overweight person could get into shape if they found something better to grab onto than chocolate ice cream... But an ugly spirited person will always be that way, no matter how big or small they are. That's not what matters...

Oh plleeeeze .... if that is all you take into consideration honey then I guess you better opt out of the human race . A friend of mine once made a comment about a guy who was in our company (mixed) cos me and some of the women commented about him. He was fit, funny, intelligent sexy and cool . He was a bit of a hottie. Ken (the friend of ours) found it baffling as he said "but he's bald" (shaved head actually) but receding hairline I guess. Like that negated everything else (DOH!) It must be a guy thing I suppose. I like people in all shapes and sizes as long as they are decent human beings.

it shouldn't effect anyone to the point of contemplating dating someone coz they're a bit podgy around the belly.

Don't be shallow...weight is just a number on the scales. there's a lot of people who make themselves seriously ill coz they're trying to fit in with the stereotypical "thin" celebrity look. it's unrealistic. Curves are better by far !!

Of course not!

If all they have to worry about is a bit around the tummy, then they should be so lucky!!

Supposedly we are the fattest nation in the EU so how would anyone get a date if people worried about that??!!

That really is shallow, I guess your under 25.
Remember the average female size is a 16 in the UK. Women should have a real shape, hour glass figure, small waist and voluptuous hips.
As for skinny men, no thanks.

No. What puts me off are lousy table manners, profanity, lack of hygeine, abuse/use of drugs or alcohol, and intense hatred of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chubby can be sexy.

Not at all, if their personality is nice then why should a bit of a belly put someone off?

"Different strokes for different folks."
My wife is 5' tall and 140 lbs and I wouldn't change her if you offered me the whole world.
Don't go looking for perfection, even if your rich and famous it doesn't always work out (Bradd Pitt and Jennifer Anniston for example)
Go with your feelings, they are far more important
