In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

No..... Jesus never actually SAID he was the son of god/man etc until he was standing before Pilate... even then he used a play on words from the Pharisees in the room..... Satan would be self-aggrandising and promoting his position.... thus elluding us to his falsehood!

So there!!!!

I've been doing overtime... and have had 3 wicked strong coffees..... sorry! LOL

I don't think he would dare say he was Jesus Christ. According to the Bible the test is that he will not be able to confess that Christ the Messiah and Redeemer has come in the flesh already. He probably call himself the "new Jesus" or something like that or say that he has "Christ-consciousness" like some New agers are saying now in order to deceive with a trick phrase referring to Christ, but not claiming to be him. When Jesus Christ comes, the whole world will know because his coming is in glory. There will be no doubt who He is.

1 John 4:1 - 3
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be from God; because many false prophets are gone forth into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, is from God. And every spirit that does not confess Jesus, is not from God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, which you have heard that it comes, and now is in the world already.

Of course not, because Jesus was a man and now he is dead. Neither do I believe in Satan or God, so I would think is a stupid joke!

If Jesus came to earth and told you he was Satan, would you believe him?

No because he was human and already died? Jesus wouldnt ever do things the old school way now that we are modern and stuff with the technology.

It will probably be hard to discern as Satan is an angel of light, deceptive, charming, probably very beautiful and capable of miracles..

Not if I knew he was Satan.

Actually, yours is a rhetorical question. If he looked and acted like Jesus, then it would only be anyone's guess as to who he really was, for anyone would readily take him to be Jesus.

I think that's what Georgie W is going to announce at his next press conference... because he sure acts like he thinks he's the world's savior- And I'm pretty sure he would be the Devil... if the devil actually existed.
