i will get to the majors later but basically you want a pre-med track. but first of all, try to get into the best possible college that you can. the better college you come from the better your med school prospects. if you cannot get into a great college, think about going to a junior college for awhile and then transferring to a great college. grades are extremely important - pre med is highly competitive and you should aim for A's in all classes, a B here and there is OK but C's will not cut it. you need a very good GPA to even be considered so plan your courseload wisely. jr colleges are a great way to earn excellent grades and get personal attention from the instructors. you will need to take many, many science classes so alot of premeds end up being biology or chemistry majors. you can still do it with other majors like english or philosophy but you will still need to take all the bio, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics.... along with the other classes. you do not necessarily need to stick with the major you initially choose. when choosing a college be sure to find out how many of their premeds actually get into medical school, you dont want to waste your time at a college that isnt getting anybody into med school.

The first thing you will need to do is get your Bachelor's Degree. I'd recommend it in biology. After completing your Bachelor's Degree you'll need to apply to a medical school. You'll have to take the MCAT (medical school equivalent to the SAT) to get in.
The in a nut shell process: 4 years for bachelor's, 4 years of medical school, 2-4 years of Residency in Pediatrics, and about 2 years of a Fellowship in Pediatrics. You're looking at 12-14 years of schooling after high school.

you need a Bachelor's Degree in the science field first and you have to take you MCATs and get into Med School. Then during your residency you decide what medical discipline you want to practice. Good Luck.

You wouldn't see pediatrician. It is a doctorial degree. you would do a premed. this 6 years then go for the phd. Talk to your counselor.
