It could be one of two things...either it is the sound of the contents fermenting...
Or
it has rusted and made a pinhole in the tin and gas is escaping through it..
In both cases you should get rid of the can...
Put it in a plastic bag and dump it in the trash before it explodes and you get fermented veggies all over your cupboard!

The can has probably developed a pinhole and bacteria is developing or dependent upon the type or vegetable it may possibly be fermenting. I think there is a horror movie out about this very thing where the heroine opened the can and what happened was definitely not pretty. . . .

If it was me, I would say bye bye to the tin and throw it in a distant bin,so as not to confront the horror that may be lurking inside it! (Probably mixed vegetables fermenting happily in the brine, it would not be a pretty sight!) Buy something to replace it!Being a bit of a non thrower outer myself, I understand, but this is toooooo long!

the noise is probably the fruit fermenting and the suger will be slowly turning to alcohol so you can either take the chance to open it and get drunk if it's been lying for a long long tim or open it and it will explode.!!
i would throw it out to some homeless hungry people and watch from a safe distance.

Sounds like the stuff I win on the school tombola stalls. Without doubt I would wrap it in newspaper and bury it in the bin before it explodes.

I would think it is fermenting and liable to explode. I suggest you bury it in earth, and pray that the US does not think it is another Nuclear Test in North Korea.

Fermentation. It could explode and make a mess. Throw it in the bin -- now!

Throw it out. Probably has some form of food poisoning by now.
