I would say the 2006 Chevrolet Suburban. They all have a 8 cylinder engine and rear climate and radio controls. The Basic model only has the features listed above. This model starts at 15 grand. The LS has navagation, DVD, rear-view camera, leather interior, wood grain upholstery, rear climate and radio controls, Onstar and lots more. This one is about 25 grand. Then the model in between Basic and LS is the LT. This has all the features the LS has plus some. This one is about 35 grand. I think overall the Chevrolet Suburban LT is the best deal for a SUV because it is luxury, powerful, reliable and somewhat cheap.

This is a guess, but an educated one. Hyundai has been vamping up their quality in the last couple of years, but they're not widely known like Honda and Toyota which have had that reputation for years, and they have the price to match it. With that said, I say the Hyundai Santa Fe this year* is the best/most for the money.

If you were meaning any year it's hard to say. Some models go up and down in quality. The ones that are good year in and year out usually have a high price tag. The Ford Explorer definitely comes to mind as a candidate, but maybe it's below your standards.

Depends on what options your looking for. I just researched SUV's before I bought mine. Chevy Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Vue were cheap and descent. I ended up with the Equinox and it's not that bad on gas. I traded in a 2005 Cobalt and I'm barely seeing a difference at the pumps.

There is no point in trying to get a good deal on a SUV-- you will spend so much money in gas that it won't matter in a year whether you saved a thousand bucks or not.

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend on your suv. From the entry level suvs, Toyota Highlander and Rav4 are a good deal.
