No one forcing Christianity in Africa? This is one of the reason I do not donate to charities that feed starving Africans - because the majority of hte money goes to CHRISTIAN charities, that then offer free food to the hungry - with a SIDE HELPING OF JESUS.

Christ, if I was starving, Id beleive whatever you told me for a free meal too....

If they have a problem with Christian charities, start an atheist charity. I think there’s enough need in the world for everybody to help.

But my guess is that some people are just looking for an excuse not to donate money at all. Heaven help if they have to dip into their drinking money to help a starving child.

I'd like to know how many of those type of people have actually went to Africa and seen it without their Religion glasses on. I know people who have come to the States from Africa and one of the things they disliked was how some missionaries (can't say all) use food, money, etc... just to get people in their "churches". Though, one of the people I refer to IS a Christian, she still speaks badly about how some missionaries treat the native people there.

The Salvation Army used to do that during the dirty thirties here. It's coming back too. Lots of right wing social darwinist christians think that it is quite reasonable to starve 'god' into you. "We have to sing a few songs praising Jesus first and say a fifteen minute prayer thanking God, before we dole out the soup to you sinners...is that too much to ask!" (Not really asking, of course!)

I don't care what religion feeds the Africans, as long as they are fed. We'll worry about the religious choices after the bellies are full.

I HAVE FINALLY ACHIEVED Y!A IMMORTALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for someone finally posting about lil ole me!!!!!!!

No, not bigotted - just the facts. I refuse to donate to a charity that gives out only to those that swallow religion. What's bigotted about that? God forbid you feed them just for the satisfaction of saving their lives....instead, you feed and preach to them. Ridiculous.

Me, I walk down the street and feed homeless people without preaching my views - I just give them food and walk away. Too bad you think Im crazy for that....

personally, i'd rather see the africans become christians than die of starvation.

EDIT

since we are already on this topic, i think you will like this article from the onion: "Poverty-Stricken Africans Receive Desperately Needed Bibles" http://www.theonion.com/content/node/46226. its very tongue in cheek :)
