She has already had 5 kittens who are living near my house. I have a cat that lives outdoors so the kittens have started to come to our house to eat. we pet them and they eat out of our hands, but they wont let us hold them. I can't figure out what to do with the kittens or the pregnant mother and I am moving shortly!

Dont just set up a box outside and feed her like some people are suggesting >:(

She will most likely NOT use the box you set up, have her kittens in some dangerous area and then get pregnant again and again until she gets some feline disease, is hit by a car or shot like some mean person said he does(horrible, but it happens. People are sick) before you can catch her. Best bet is to contact your local humane society and borrow a live trap to trap her. Make sure if you give her to the humane society it is a no-kill shelter....dont want her to end up being put to sleep because she was "feral". Lots of agencies either adopt out "feral" cats as barn cats or release them after they have kittens and are spayed....this is a good option.

I have tamed many so called "feral" cats as well. Cats are cautious by nature, especially if they are vulnerable like when they are pregnant or hurt. She may really be the sweetest cat, she is just terrified you will hurt her. Give her a chance, you may find she is a diamond in the rough!

Good luck!

You must be a really caring person. First what I would do is wait for her to have the kittens and then see how many of them you can catch. Some areas have a "special fund" like the ASPCA and will spay/neuter animals for free if they are ferral. That way you know this won't be a visious cirlce! And once that's done maybe you know some people who need a little kitten. This is how I got my 5mo old kitten that I have now, who is just wonderful.

Leave her alone and let her have her babies! If you feed her, she is yours... along with her brood of kittens!!! She'll never leave. You can call the local humane society and have them come out. In California, you have to "trap" her yourself before they'll come out (ugh). You can borrow a wire cage (humane) trap from the SPCA and bait it with yummies. Keep in mind that most SPCA's will not be able to adopt a pregnant cat or one who has a bunch of babies... they will most likely be "put down." If anyone reading this has cats, get them fixed!!! You can contact your local humane society to find out when they do it for free or VERY cheap... please!!! No more dead kitties.

Call animal control. You can find them in your local phone directory. They have the tools and expertise to help the kitty without harming her! Oh, and I just read the ham idea--tuna would work even better! But, be very careful about letting her in--she might have fleas (or worse, worms) that you could catch.

You can try to put them ina box and take them inside, but very gently and let them know your not going to hurt her because her last owner could of and she could of thought that she'll never trust no one again. Take her in or a shelter so she can aleast be somewhere warm. Thats very nice of you trying to help a cat out. I would but my mom is very allergic. But I'm getting a certain type of cat to help out too.

I would put a bowl of some kind of food out there...maybe some water too.
If you want to have someone pick it up, I would make a bed for it, and if it does stay, then you should call your local animal shelter.

set out some food water, maybe a nice sized box with an old blanket in it. If she doesnt want to be caught she wont. If you are trying to catch her because you want to bring her into your home to care for her, then keep up with the food and water and give her time.

In the States, and in my area, we have a special organization just for CATS! Perhaps you all have one that you are not aware of...call your local humane society and perhaps they can help!
I appreciate your finding some place for these little creatures, they need us to look out for their little furry faces!
Good Luck!
