MYTH!!!! Cutting your hair makes it shorter! :) it does help with split ends, but it doesn't help your hair grow, hair grows from the follicle, not the ends!!

Myth....hair grows from the root not the ends. The reason for cutting the hair at the ends is to keep it from having those ugly split ends and spreading up the hair shaft. Plus, keeping your hair trimmed makes it look more healthy, neat, and cute. And who doesn't want that? :)

I've heard a couple of other myths regarding this. One of them is if you wash your hair alot (everyday, perhaps?), it will grow faster. Another one is if you cut it really short (not just trimming it). I've actually heard some moms cut their daughters' hairs because they thought it was thin and limp. They wanted it grow fuller and longer. I don't think it even worked on the girls' hairs. Poor kids....

yes this is myth. When the hair is cut the ends aren't damaged and the hair seems to grow faster as hair that is split or has damaged ends just keeps breaking off as it is growing.

It's a myth. Hair grows from the root, not the ends. But when you have your hair cut, it makes the ends look thicker and healthier.

Myth....it helps with split ends which can cause breakage and you won't be able to retain the hair you have already but hair grows from the root, cutting your ends have nothing to do with that.

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth.

Growth rate is directly connected with ur genetics, so if it grew fast before u had it trimmed, it'll grow at the same rate after.

No it does not. As a matter of fact, Hair gets it's nutrients through Capillary action. The longer the hair, the more nutrients it will receive. Shorter hair does not receive as much in the way of Nutrients as longer hair.
