I'm 44 going on 45,(I do look a lot younger though)...do I keep my hair just past shoulder-length or go short ?

why do women do that? how many women do you know who had a short haircut after years of long and it made them look nicer? None, perhaps? that's how many I know.
the Brazilians say that half of a woman's beauty is in her hair. That might be an exaggeration. But whatever - don't cut it, grow it instead. Please. Then take a piccy and put it on your avatar so we can all adore your flowing, fulsome radiance.

A lady who I work with who is 50 had shoulder length hair and she cut it short. I would say it took 10 years off her! She also had some really neat highlights too and it really makes her look so much younger. I have had shoulder length hair and had it cropped (I'm 34) everyone says it looks better short. When I see photos of me with longer hair I know I have made the right decision to go short. Make sure you go to a hairdresser you are comfortable with. I can go into my hairdresser and say do what you like with the colour. Last time I came out with dark pink flashes of colour in the front and everyone said it was the best hair style I have ever had! Go for it! (maybe not the pink though!)

Length of hair is irrelevant. Go with what you prefer. The most important thing is to have a really good style that is cut by someone who really knows what they are doing and to have regular trims to keep the shape.

shoulder length! long hair looks like youre trying to stay young and makes you look older while short hair is never flattering

Short hair makes you look older. If you want to stay looking young, keep your hair long. Add some highlights too!

i think you should keep you hair just past your shoulders, as many middle age women seem to cut there hair short and i don't think it really looks nice, unless you suit short hair

If you grow your hair out you can always cut it, If you cut your hair you will never know. There are many women your age that look beautiful with longer hair. It's all in how comfortable you are with how long the hair you want.
I like longer hair because to me it makes women look sexy.

if you have a chubby face keep it long but a oval face shoty shoulder length looks good on everyone if you keep layers
