I think Chestnut Brown would be a great color.
Possibly any chocolatey brown color.
If you want something semi-perminant (washes out in 28 days or something) I'd go for the Natural Instincts collection by Clairol (I think). You can go to Clairol.com and check out things, I think they have a "try-it-on" studio where you can put various hairstyles and colors on your face.

I once used their "Egyptian Plum" color on my hair, gaev it a neat purpley-reddish brown color. I loved it even though it looked fake for the first few days. Haha.

And if you use the temporary colors (like the ones that come in the bright orange box) you can try ANYTHING becuase it's temporary! haha. Go black for a couple of days if you want. Or fire engine red.

But if you're using something more permanent I say to go for chestnut brown.

My favorite brands of hair dye are the Natural Instincts by Clairol and anything by Garnier.

Find a colour that matches your eyebrows...this will bring out your natural colouring and sounds like your unhappy with your colour because you dont really know what your natural colour is...so go back to the basics...You might be surprised if you find something that is close to normal and then you could either highlight it, or lowlight it, or both....I recently had to do this and now I am so happy...good luck

If it makes oyu dry do not mixture it with lemon juice use warmed water. If that isn't the project then ascertain you upload some deep conditioner or yoghurt on your mixture to moisten your hair or maybe amla oil or olive oil. some people discover it drying yet ought to stability it out with yet another component of course. in case you prefer brown to black tones you will ought to upload indigo powder besides. Also take into consideration, your hair type, face shape and skin tone for the best results. There are also some questions to ask your stylist:

1) Type of styles most flattering with face shape?
2) Length recommened and why?
3) Maximize hair texture, volumn & form
4) If you were me, what would you do with my hair?

Some girls have learned the hard way, to get your stylist involved and to have her explain each step. That way your not asking after the colouring is done. Let him/her know, in a nice way, what you expect the day after or ask them what to expect.

Dye it dark brown (better if you use natural instincts, chestnut was what I used but I have medium brown hair, but that's a really nice color and it's not too dark after you wash your hair about a couple of days later.) It's non-permanent contains no ammonia or peroxide so it'll work for you. Good luck I hope you like my advice.

What about a really rich chocolatey brown?
If you have tanned skin and blue eyes this can look absolutely stunning. Be careful not to go too dark though. Black can look very harsh, especially on long hair.
Good luck

f you want it done well, with more option open to you, I would suggest that you go get it done professionally. But I to like mahogany. I wish I had red hair tho. It has a lot of red in it, but not as much as I would like.

DON'T TRY RED. It looks very false on people with darker skin.
Try some dark brown lowlights.
