When a dog shakes, it can be a sign of pain. It may also be tremors. That dog needs to see a vet pronto

Dogs do percieve subtle things that we do not...

But before we go ghost busting, lets get your dog a check up.

Here's why. Some brain disorders cause strange behaviors, they are like a behavioral seizure. These can include shaking and agressive or fearful behavior directed at ...nothing.

Some things you can do to try to figure out what is going on. This will be important for the vet to see.

Track the time and location of each occurance. Is it only in your house? Only in one room? Only when a certain car drives by?

Is it only at a particular time of day?
How long has this been happening for and did anyting trigger the first occurance?

The idea is to deterime if it is a growing behavioral problem, an organic brain problem (type of seizure, brain tumor...) or if something is there that you can not see, hear or smell, that your dog does...

If you can, look under your home as well- check to see if you have a batch of skunks, 'possums or rodents nesting under the house... that often bothers sensitive citters.

Do call your vet and get an exam though.

Define shaking. Both of those breeds are know to have seizure like activity and can be serious. It is a head shake, a body shake like tremors? Is it a nervous twitch. Most submissive dogs cower and duck or slink around when scared. Provide your dog with a safe place like a crate or bed for securtiy. I would see your VET and have them do an exam & possibly a blood draw for a chemical profile of your dogs health.

Your dog most likely is having seizures. These are common in the Lab breed. If it is not seizures it is some other form of neurological issue. You need to have him see a vet and describe the symptoms or during the next episode, get him to the office immediately so they can witness it themselves.

the best thing to do is to take you're dog to the veterinarian. this might be expensive but it is worth it, if u love you're dog. and don't worry, everything has a solution. you're dog will be better soon. i know how u feel i have a dog too. actually, when i get married, i want to get a lab too, they say they are good with kids. well, just stay calm and make you're dog an appointment to see the animal doctor.

It sounds like petit mal seizures..he needs to see a vet..
the seizures frighten him, so he stays close to you...

Lots of dogs do that. Maybe they are trying to freak out us humans!

Could be epilepsy or some kind of short in his neuro system. Talk to a vet, please.
