I know English is not easy, for the last 10 years I've been a volunteer at a primary school where for the vast majority of pupils English is a second language. It's an uphill battle trying to explain how two words can be spelt the same but be pronounced differently/mean something else - the real joy is realising that you have actually been able to get through to a child and for them to enjoy reading and not fear it.
