I can't think of a christmas tradition we have other than watching my mom run around like a chicken with her head cut-off all stressed about dinner. We help out tons, but everything has to be perfect or done her way. It's the one day a year that we all realize that we are morons in the kitchen compared to her. Geez...writing this down makes me realize that my family is kind of dysfunctional during the holidays.

An odd tradition that a b/f of mine had was his family would gather around in a circle and sing carols and then take turns busting moves inside the circle. It was so embarassing to dance inside the circle the first time I did it because I had only been dating him for a few weeks. All the wives or g/f's of the family (5 sons) would hatetaking their turn inside the circle. It was just so weird....

Bethy 75 9,
We exchange Christmas stockings for fun and laughs. The idea is to fill the stocking with silly gifts and hopefully funny things that are pretty much useless. The more silly and useless the better. It makes for a real fun time before the real serious gifts get handed out.

On Christmas afternoon, we always had a birthday party for my oldest daughter (she's 26 now) so she didn't feel shortchanged being born on December 25th. I have a friend who's birthday is also on Christmas. He and my daughter exchanged the same "Merry Birthday" card for many years. It has a picture of Santa Claus holding a bithday cake.
When I was a child we always took a moment to remember my grandfather who passed away on Dec 25th.

Our family tradition is to punch each others noses. We have 9 people in our family and we disagree about everything. It is so much fun.

Someone ALWAYS has to catch the stomach "flu"!!! Then they have to give it to the rest of us, so we can be throwing up on New Years Eve!
Also, 1 gift opened on xmas eve and cinnamon rolls for xmas breakfast (yummy!).
