'Whore' is the proper english word though in some countries this is pronounced as 'hoar'. This is due to the origin of the word from germanic-european origins as in the Dutch 'Hoer', the Norwegian 'Hore', the Swedish 'Hora', and the German 'Hure'

In fact the old English word used to be 'hōre'

So yes in essence it is the same word generally meaning a prostitute but somtimes used for a woman/girl who is sexually promiscuous.

Don't think the word hore exists in the English language.

When I was growing up, we had horehound candy, which was made from the extract of some root, I think. Very strong flavor! I'm not sure of the origin of that word, though.
