What pill? What is the drug?

Although there are some medications that both cats and dogs can take, there are also many that they can not.

It is important to find out WHY your cat is loosing hair and treat the cause, not just cover a symptom up.

Also, medication is dosed by weight, species, condition, age and health.... and swapping meds without knowing how to calculae correct doses is asking for a huge emergency vet bill.

Take your cat to the vet, find out what is wrong and get the right medication.

NO! As the other sensible answers have stated...it can kill your kitty! The vet is the only one who can find out and say why your kitty is losing its hair. There are not only insects that can cause hair loss (mange) but fungus/infections as well. Like with humans, this can only be diagnosed and treated by a professional...i.e. Veterinarian. Your vet can do a simple quick test that will say what it is and then advise you what medicine and/or diet the kitty needs. (Remember, the kitty is your "baby" and the Veterinarian the kitty's "pediatrician".) Good luck and I hope the kitty gets well quickly.

No, cats can't take same things of dogs because it might be too strong. Cats can't even eat dog food let alone take the same medicine. Try petco.com they have alot of hair loss things and comments from people to see if it really works

No but good quality food instead of the economy stuff will.
We had to switch to high quality food when our breeders failed to breed and have litters. A vet recommended a certain food, we switched and lost 5 litters. And at one point we were shoveling hair up in large quantities.
Still get a little, but it's normal now.

Cats can be fatally poisoned if they are given medication intended for dogs or other animals. It could just be their summer mault and as soon as the weather starts to get cold they will stop maulting and grow their winter coat. Come the spring they`ll start to lose it again it helps if you groom them too.
Good luck .

You should really call your vet on this one. A lot of medicine that dogs can take is bad for kitties. Call the doc, and make sure! Better to be safe than sorry!!
