A month after i bought it a group o men and women somehow broke into it ( i parked it along the side walk in front of the condo where i live) and stole it. I got home the night before it ahd happened about 8pm and when i got up to go to work it was gone!! I was so angry!! Anyway- i called the police and resume to what i was gonna do. I got picked up by a family member and taken to work. While at work- i got a call from the police that they had found my car. They had arrested 2 women with it about 15 miles from where i live. They confiscated teh car an took it to a towing co. yard. After work i had to go to the station to file robbery or whatever those people could get prosecuted. It had keyf rom a ot of makes and models (hondo, toyota, bmw, mercedezz) it scared me! it semmed like they went on stealing spree. When court date came- i got all my paper work together for the things they dammanged in the car (did i mention that they wrecked it? well they did. The damages in the car plus towing & stuff came up to $1800. The court ordered here to pay me that ammount in monthly payments startgint Jan 06 and i haven't seen a penny. I called the DA's office and they arrested her and put her in jail for a couple of days for non payment. He told me to file a small claims on her but- if i go through all that what are the chances i will get my money??

well- to add- i got rid of the car. I never fixed it it would cost too much to fix. The stuff in the car i threw away. I picked up the car from the towing place thinking it was ok but- if i would have known that it had all taht stuff in there and that it was wrecked i woudl have immediately told the police so they could get prosecuted for even more robberies. Since i didn't the police would have assumed that i stole all that stuff. How would they know if it was them or me even if i tell them it wasn't me??

Well I don't know what you want us to tell you about you should do. If you are asking about the stuff inside the car I would say that you can do whatever you want to with it. Maybe run an ad in the paper telling your story and telling everyone if they had anything stolen about that time to call you with a description and if it is in your possession you will return it to them. That would probally be the right thing to do but do what ever you would like.

Call Judge Judy. Seriously there is not much you can do other than try small claims court and see if you can get any pay she or they are getting can be garnished. But from what it sounds even that will do no good, remember the old saying "you can not get blood out of a turnip, this may well apply here. If she/they have no visible income it will be hard to claim for your reimbursement for damages. As for the stuff in the car, I am surprised the police did not take it and see if anyone claimed it. So run an ad in the paper saying you have items that might have been stolen on such and such evening and if you have no taker try to sale it and keep the proceeds anything that does not sale donate to a charity.

Personally I'd have sold the stuff in the car.

There's no need to go to Small Claims Court. You already have a judgement against them. Just keep pressing the issue. If they get tired enough of being jailed for contempt, maybe they'll make an effort to pay you something. Then again, maybe not...

My hunch is that there at least a dozen people/corporations that she owes money to, and you're probably last on that list.

I wouldn't count on seeing anything.
