how about this what is your opposition to the Bible, you should believe that Jesus is a prophet, right? but you don't believe it because the Koran teaches different, the Koran was written 600 years after Jesus left the earth. The Bible was written first, the Koran counterdicts most everything in the Bible, that's why I'm opposed, plus the fact that I've studied the origins of the religion, and I don't believe it at all.

God bless

some of the main reasons:

it does not have the same richess of Gods grace and mercy like the Bible which commands us to LOVE MERCY and speaks to the human heart

Jesus said John the Baptist was the greatest prophet up till then and the prophet John said Jesus was "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" does Mohammed agree with that...no

it does not offer new life, it is more man centered and salvation is wrongly put on man not God;s power, even in its picturing of heaven, God is not the centerpiece it is man , where in the Bible God is the crowning treasure of heaven

the Koran is not consistent with the Old or New Testament
it present a different picture of God than the Bible

it denies Jesus is the Son of God or died on the cross which are prophesied by the prophets and fullfilled and clearly claimed in the New testament. Clearly if Jesus is the Son fo God and died on the cross and essential to salvation as claimed then the Koran is well intentioned and sincere but misses the mark

and lastly Mohammed claimed the New and Old testaments agreed with the Koran but although the scriptures we have are essentially the same as in his day, the 7th century, they do not agree

It looks like Las Vegas Steve might be on to somthing there. But all the violence and hatred aside, the Qur'an is fundementally opposed to Christianity. It denies that Jesus is the Son of God and it seeks to negate the saving power of Jesus death on the cross by denying He died there.

This one thing is sufficient to put the Qur'an in direct oppossion to Christianity, there are many others.
