No. Hinduism is an ancient religion. Paganism is not a religion.

The term pagan was first used to describe Christians who rejected Roman gods. It was later used by Catholics to describe the indigenous practices of people they attempted to conquer.
There has never been a pagan religion.

Since there is a growing number of people who classify their religion as Paganism, if it becomes recognized as a religion, it will fall under the classification of Animism.

Yes, technically Hinduism is an ancient paganism. It is not New Age Paganism, but some new age pagans will use some Hindu practices and/or concepts.

Generally speaking, "pagan" refers to one of the Western polytheistic, non-Abrahamic religions. The Greeks and Romans are the obvious examples. It's sometimes applied to Eastern religions (like Hinduism) as well, though. It's usually a derogatory term, almost like "infidel."

Hinduism believe in worshiping idols, Hinduism is not entirely paganism... forces of nature are considered as allies to the Hindu gods and godesses. all the gods are all various forms who have descended from the same and only superior power....

there are demigods for each element of nature in Hinduism.. also Hindus worshipers worship the planets and the sun ...

Depends on who you ask. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia every religion but theirs is "pagan".
At one time, any religion that wasn't monotheistic was concidered to be "pagan", later the definition changed simply because of the number of believers in Hinduism.
