refridgeration of apple butter?

Are you supposed to refridgerate apple butter after you open it or will it be ok at room temperature?

You dont HAVE to refridgerate any better...but if you have already use it, its a good idea because the butter can get bacteria in it that will grow at room temp and not in the fridge...And its also less likely to separate in the fridge
