We go camping at Ocotillo Wells ( desert - dirt bikes ) for Thanksgiving every year ... we usually do dinner before or after the trip ... sometimes my grandma would cook turkey for us to bring - but it's never the same .... !
Moms side :
Turkey ( both fried and oven roasted ), Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Gravy, Cheese & Coliflower, Green beans with Bacon, Rolls ( lots of them ) Olives & Pickels, Yams, Cranberry Sauce, Mac-n-Cheese, Salad, Veggies w/dip, Pumkin/Harvest Pies
Dads side :
Ham, Fried Rice, Wong Tongs, Cheesy Green Beans or Brocolli, Teriyaki Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, White Rice, Seaweed Wraps, Sushi Rolls, Cold Chicken Salad, Corn on the Cob, Pumpkin Pie & Strawberry Short Cake ( granny's specilty ) ... she's Japanese so our dinner there is a little different ... !
The only problem growing up was deciding whos house you were going to eat more ... lol ... !

We always have turkey and a ham because some people don't like turkey (white meat). We have rolls of some kind, stuffing of course although I don't eat it, mashed potatoes homemade with my grandma's home made turkey gravy with turkey chunks in it. some kind of potato salad or macaroni salad. I like to make deviled eggs. Usually there is a plate with carrots, olives, pickles, and cheese on it. Sometimes one with celery, carrots, brocoli and ranch dipping stuff like that. A lot of people like yams and cranberry stuff but when it's at my house I don't make that. Also usually a veggie like canned green beans or corn. Then for desert of course the pumpkin pie although I always look forward to the chocolate cream pie since I don't eat pumpkin pie. And they usually make a whole bunch of pumpkin and one chocolate and not everyone gets a piece. So I always do it the other way around. Hardly anyone touches the pumpkin pies anymore. Of course whipped cream to go on all of them. Sometimes my grandma even does strawberry shortcakes for those who doesn't like pie. And ice cream. Off the top of my head that's what I can think of I'm probably forgetting something.

Your thinking about that already too hu? I was thinking the exact same thing here. It got a bit cool where I live. Feels like Thanksgiving.
Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls with butter, stuffing, punkin pie of course, sometimes pecan pie.
And then, a week later, throw the potatoes, stuffing and turkey in a pie!

I love Thanksgiving. Turkey, family and football. It also helps if it's snowing. We always have Turkey, Stuffing, mashed and sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, a couple of veggie dishes, arugula salad, fresh homemade yeast rolls, pumpkin-Kahlua pie, and a cinnamon apple pie. A couple of bottles of a good Italian sangiovese wine and you're good to go.

Turkey of course, and ham cause my Mom don't like turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casarole, corn, cole slaw, rolls, gravy, brocolli with cheese, deviled eggs, pumpkin pie, punch bowl cake ( cause Hubby has to have it!), punch, pop, coffee, and my middle sister usually makes some really weirod fancy dish that no one will touch! Oh, and Mom's stuffing, can't forget that, sweet potatoes, & cranberry sauce (YUK). That's our favorite Thanksgiving dinner!

I don't have one.
I don't celebrate traditional holidays.
The majority of people have turned into money making holidays and have lost all sense of Thanksigiving or any holiday.
Besides..You don't need a special day to be thankful for your life and you certainly don't need valentines to make a special moment for a loved one..it should be done everyday not once a year

Well, my sister makes this awful stuffing in a cage that sits inside of the turkey. When she takes it out and "uncages" it, it looks just like a haggis! She thinks she has done such a good job and believes all of us love the haggis. Consider yourself a guest!
