ONe thing that might help is get them fixed....sometimes this works, sometimes it does not....many dogs of many breeds just don't like other dogs of the same sex....they want the alpha spot...this is something you are going to have to really watch.

These dogs are establishing dominance.,meaning they are the leader of the pack.I learned first hand when I had a litter of Dobermans. My daughter kept a male, I kept a male, and I had the father, mother, and a young female. The male pup I had kept would fight his brother and even his father. Once I had to take the father to have stitches. They're not like humans, they don't know to respect their parents. They just want to show they are the strongest of the other. I know this is really scary when this takes place and could cause serious harm to humans as well as the animal. I've heard of females doing this but not as often as the males. I will never have two males in my home together again. Good luck and please be careful.

Pittbulls need lots of attention and special care. Get a book on this breed and read it. Make sure you take this dog to training classes regularly. Not just once start with beginner classes and then intermediate and then advanced. They need lots or work and if you don't have time for the classes get a friend or family member to work with them. Pittbulls are extremely territorial and picky. They can attact another dog for any reason maybe just looks.
I will repeat myself, DONT EVER HAVE A PITTBULL THAT IS NOT TRAINED. They can be agressive as they get older even to you. They must know who the boss is early in life.

Also all dogs have a harder time getting along with dogs of the same sex. It is in there genes.
You have lots of work ahead so get started now.

They are trying to establish dominance over the other dog of the same sex. They don't do that with the opposite sex. I would just let your friends and whoever is bringing other dogs over know what is going on. This behavior does not make a dog mean, it is only their natural behavior. Might also want to put a fence up around your yard if u let them go outside alot.

Same sex aggression is very common in assertive dominant breeds.
It is normal in Pitts, Rotties, Dobermans, Akitas, and many other of the dominant breeds.
You can not really fix it or cure it that is just the nature of the breed.
These are dogs who may never be able to be off lead around others of the same sex.
I work with a Doberman rescue and we will not place two males in the sme house as they will fight sometimes until one kills the other one.
Same sex with certain breeds is just a no no.

They are trying to be dominant. Animals rarely compete for dominance over the other sex, just the same sex. If you socialize them enough with same sex dogs they might get over it.

they are dominant. when you get a puppy you should put some of your friends dogs with the puppy so they can play and they know other dogs are ok to be around.

they are mean because they are vicious killers. thats what they were bred to be and you cant change that. put them to sleep before they kill someone, please.
a few weeks ago here, a girl was giving her pit a bath when it snapped and killed her. i say she deserved it because everyone knows by this point how dangerous pit bulls are. dont be another victim.
