You have to realize that they go through what you go through. That some are just as shy (if not worse) as you. And as long as you aren't being creepy, there really is nothing to lose and everything to gain by just introducing yourself and being friendly with someone.

The ones you know is simple. talk to them about things you both know and are interested in, like music or a movie. As time goes by the conversations will become more easily. Then if its someone you dont know maybe one of the others in the group will. Let them start the conversation with that person and join in the same way. Talk about joint interest and relax. In due time things get easy and before you know it your able to walk up to them and talk just like old friends. Good luck.

You can overcome shyness believe me. I used to be shy. I couldnt look a guy in the face without turning red. All it took for me was a wake up call. being lonely and not dating.I asked myself whats the worst thing that could happen.I knew that a few guys were interested so I started off by emails(IM) ,phone calls and sending letters in class(no face to face at first.) The phone calls gave me confidence in myself.Now I have no problem walking up to a guy and asking him for his number. It took sometime but I did it.

If you kow them, find something you know about them to spark up the conversation. If you don't know them, approach & talk about something they have or whatever you will really be interested in. If you can get the girl alone, as in away from her pals, be honest & say ya'd really like to talk with her but ya don't know what to say. Ask questions. Be honest. Have confidence. Don't try to act all slick. Treat her like ya'd talk to anybody else. She is a person after all. Be innocent. Good luck.
