For me, it feels good just to write them down, see what others think, see if they agree that my feelings are justified or not. Its VERY useful to get and consider opinions from folks who are different from me.

First, let's rule out the fake entries - the ones where people submit stories and claim they are real situations.

After ruling those out, we are left with the real submissions where people actually have a problem. I have wondered the same thing that you have and I think there are at least 2 possibilities.

1. They really are looking for help and figure that they are anonymous on YA. Thus their secret is safe. They hope that someone out "there" on the Internet has experience they can share.

2. Emotionally they want to solve their problem in one manner. Logically, their intelligence tells them to solve their problem in a different manner. So they come on YA and tell their problem. Then they wait and hope that someone submits an answer that "validates" their emotional solution. That way, they can follow their heart instead of their brain. It relieves them of having to make the decision and then be responsible for that decision.

OK, this is definitely not a Malaysia Dining out question. Your spelling is awful, there's a free spell checker to avoid looking ignorant even when you do post in the wrong category.
Personal problems don't have to be a secret. People need to vent and sometimes get others opinions to help them to better understand if how they are dealing with their problem is acceptable, or normal. It's good for us to seek others views on things because sometimes our negative thinking while dealing with a lot of problems keeps us from seeing an easy or do-able solution.

There are as many reasons as there are people. This is a faceless forum for receiving information from intelligent and not so intelligent people. The answers, and opinions are there for the question's author to read, as well as the rest of us. All of my friends are not as smart nor as wise as the group of users on this Q & A site. Again it is safe, and from my limited experience, someone out there has the right answer.

Personal problems don´t always have to be secrets. Speaking of problems to others, and hearing other peoples experiences and input can help for almost any problem. This is a good platform to anonymously get feedback on possible touchy subjects.

haven't you heard two heads are better than one? people need people!!! some give good sound advise.if those personal questions irritate you answer other ones. you can be rich , poor. educated or uneducated. at times people have trials and tribulations and need sound advise. one day you may need some? not all personal things are secrets. id consider your sex life more private and confidential as to what one does. some people have questions on that issue as well. as long as questions are cleanly directed with honest intentions NO SECRETS. DOES THIS STUFF EMBARRASS YOU? were you brought up all personal things should be kept to yourself? some should, but not all. thanks

It's not face to face and they don't know the people answering them. It's a way to get advice or just to talk about something they otherwise couldn't or wouldn't discuss.
