Take the Cat to the SPCA or Amimal Control in your area. It wouldn't hurt to call first. Usually they will take the Cat in and hold it for a while in hopes the owners will appear. After a certain number of days they will try to adopt it out.
I wouldn't take it to the Vet as usually don't don't take in strays. Mind you, I did say usually, as some Vets will take them in and give away to a caring home.

Put it in an add in the paper or take it to a NON KILL SHELTER and please make it worth some money maybe like a 10 dollar adoption fee, if you don't then they could make it a lab animal and that's the worst thing your could possibly do!

Don't just leave it outside or anything, Find a No-Kill animal shelter they should take the cat in, or petfinder.com.

I would put a free ad up on craigslist.com- but be aware of who you're giving the cat away to!

animal shelter..do you have a local SPCA or humane society?? Take it there to be adopted out.

If it's tame, take it to the humane society. If it's not tame, take it to the pound. Sorry.
