she claims that since I have a wealthier family than her she could use it more than me, but I think that's irrelevant. and sure, I shouldn't have cheated a few times and lied about it, but I didn't mean to, and anyway, that also doesn't really have anything to do with ipods!

LOL...no, cheating has nothing to do with iPods, but cut your losses. Is it worth it, with your "wealthier family" and all? In fact, if you don't make an issue of it, she might just give it back to you. People make a big deal about property after a breakup just so that they can keep screaming at each other a while longer.

I think she is justified in keeping your ipod because you cheated "a few times" even though you "didn't mean to." Think of it as a punishment for your indiscretions. Maybe you'll reconsider next time.
You'd still have the ipod (and her) had you not cheated.
