As a mother who has worked outside of the home and also maintained my home and taken care of my children, I have a thought on your question.

A Supermom, is a mother who works, takes children to school functions, helps the children with their homework, takes the children to church, watches them play sports, attends PTO meetings, talks to the teachers about their childrens progress, listen to them when they need to talk, gives them the support that they need, but most of all loves them in spite of whatever problems they may bring to the family..... and on and on concerning the children.

She also is a wonderful wife to her husband if she is married. Gives him the emotional support that he needs.

She pays the bills, cooks meals, shops for food, grocery and anything else that the family needs.

In other words, she can do it all. But trust me, it will take it toll on her and the entire family need to chip in to help her. After all, without her, would there be a family at all?

Aren't most moms "Super Mom"? They're the ones who holds the house together most days. Organizing the kids, figuring out dinners, cleaning the house, getting that lazy no-good husband another beer while he watches the (insert sporting event here).

Even if you have a very helpful husband around the house, it always seems that the Mom is the one who has all of it together.

It's a thankless job, but we really do appreciate you for it, even if we don't say it often enough (or at all).

"Super Mom" means to me...making it through the day sane. Moms have a hard job; even in the best of circumstances. It is the best job, but the hardest. Sometimes I give myself a A or B on motherhood. (on the Super mom scale), but these are few and far between.) Usually if I give myself a "C" I am content. Good luck. Parenthood is hard.....but it is worth it.

LOL, Sometimes! I suppose we all have our own definitions. But I'd say I was one! I'm a single mother of a 6 year old. I work a fulltime job ( to pay ALL the bills alone), attend college parttime, become a playmate for my daughter MOST of the time, manage to do PTA' meetings, homework, and household duties. While attempting to have a boyfriend and friends in another part of my life. ITS soo fun, :)! I'd def call myself super mom, and most of this I do in my stillettos, LOL

No, I am most definitely not one! I guess to some people I may be a little bit, cuz I support myself and my daughter.
Anyway, to me a super mom is someone who seems to be able to do it all, and have everything under control. They do so much, yet make it seem so easy and almost effortless. Like it just comes naturally to them or something. My sitter is one example. She has her own kids, plus watches mine, keeps a spotless house, runs her kids to afterschool activites, and still finds time to do things with family on the weekends. She seems like she is always busy, but always under control. She does the unimaginable, like drag five young kids to the doctors office by herself when one of them is sick.
A "Super Mom" is one who leaves you standing there wondering "How DOES she do it?!"

I am an excellent mother.

I consider anyone who tries to do best for their kids is an excellent mother.

These are people who even though they make mistakes--TRY not to.

Mother are expected to do everything. As long as they make a constant effort to do what right that makes them excellent in my book.

As for "Super Mom" I think I am that too for the same reasons. (I also do a lot and wonder how I manage sometimes.)

A woman who balances every family members schedule in the house, cooks, cleans, attends PTA meetings and bake goodies for all school and after school events. She stays up with the kids when they are sick (whether she is sick or not). She may coach a team. She may be involved in ministries at her church. And at the end of the day she still makes time to give her husband what he wants.
Yes, I would say I am one.

There is no such thing as "Super Mom"..... The word mom implies that Super is just one of the attributes one should carry.
