yes, i have adopted a pet. its a great feeling. when you look at it, you have just saved a life. if you didnt adpot them, then they might have been put to sleep because of overpopulation.

I have 2 adopted dogs and 1 cat. It made me feel great to give them a good home and not worry about them getting put to sleep. They are mutts and some of the best dogs I have ever gotten ahold to. I really prefer to adopt from a no-kill shelter, to help ease their burden, cause they will keep them forever, no matter how old they get. I will most likely go back to the shelter for my next pets too.

I work with a rescue group and just last week adopted a four year old doberman pinscher.
He is a wonderful dog. It will take him some time to settle in but her gets along with our other dogs and will be a great addition to our home.
I like the fact that I have taken a dog who had no place else to be.He was given up by his owner as she had not done any training with him and could not control him. She did not have time for him and did not want the hassle anymore.
Now he will be loved for the rest of his time in my home and will get some much needed training so he can be a better pet.
And I will have another great dobie companion.

I have adopted/rescued 3 and it feels awesome! I have never felt better about myself. One that I rescued is like the most loyal dog ever, she's awesome even though she was abused prior. Do it, just still take in account the ssame things you would if you were buying a puppy, how old can it be, how big can it be, how much exercise or room will it need, because you dont want to chose the wrong one only to send it back to a shelter. that has to be so hard for those poor dogs to go thru.

We adopted a rescue pup this summer and it felt wonderful to save the little guy from who knew what.

Unfortunately, he was going to be a really big boy and decided my 3 and 5 year old were litter mates he could assert dominance over. Ultimately, we decided he was inappropriate for young children and sent him back to his foster mom. We gave her a long list of the good things we'd worked with him on, like basic obedience and potty training, while we had him. We let her know we felt he would be okay with older children who could participate in his training and be able to assert as his dominant leaders.

The rescue contacted us recently to let us know, at our request, that he did indeed place into a proper home. They had listed him to not go to a home with children under 10.

But even tho he wasn't the right match, I would do it again in a heartbeat. So many animals unwanted in this world and if you can give just one a good home and life, it's a reward in itself!

I addopted a poor little kitty from the shelter last year. I felt really good about what i did. Its nice to know that you brought it from the small, cold cage at the animal shelter, to the warm, loving environment of your home.
