Well that would depend on your point of view. I, for one, was born and raised in New York City. I love this city and doubt I will ever leave. NYC is the city that never sleeps. No matter what time of day, you'll always find something to do and a way to get there.

However, NYC is one of the most expensive cities in the US. Depending on whether you're dead-set on living in Manhattan, you can get by just fine if you live in one of the other 4 boros that makes up NYC.

Whether or not you'll be able to afford living here would depend on your salary potential given your work experience and skills. If I were you, I would take a good poke around the salary.com website for median salaries for your industry.

NYC is a type of place you either LOVE or HATE. You will just have to come & see if NYC energy agrees with you. It doesn't agree with everyone. I don't think it agrees with me. The longer I stay here the more I RESPECT it for its greatness, but it just doesn't work with my biorythms for some reason. My inner batteries get recharged once I leave here. NYC burns me out, but it may just work for you. It does work for many people, obviously. Those people are an emigma to me.

Depends where you live. Mid-town Manhattan, Central Park West, Tribeca, Battery Park City, Soho, and Chelsea are great places to reside.
