These people are full of crap. Just running the chicken under water will not rid it of anything. You can just cook it.

Just cook it. What do people think heat is for? It kills germs, anything on meat, or otherwise. Too many scares about health issues today that are unfounded. Washing chicken before cooking it is nothing short of wasting water, and expensive paper towels. If you dont eat it raw, dont wash it. Only wash vegetables to remove dirt, either eating them raw, or cooked. Dont worry, just cook, lol! Have fun.

yeah always make sure to wash it first because in order for the chicken to get to the tray you bought it in someone had to put it there. That someone could of not been wearing gloves. And if you buy chicken that's packaged in the store where you bought it, that person that packaged it could of been handling beef or other meat before touching the chicken and could of cross contaminated it. Its a good idea to thoroughly wash all meat before cooking it for your family's safety.

If I were you I would wash it.
When I do any kind of chicken be it breasts, legs or wings I always wash it and the boil it for 15 or 20 minutes to get all the fat off of it.( put a tablespoon of vinegar in the pot )
By boiling it you will not lose any of of your flavours.
it is alot healthier to do it that way.

Rinsing it is always a good idea. You don't have to do it, but it gets off any residue from where the chicken was processed. Just another step in healthier living, but I don't think you'll get sick if you don't take that step. Just be sure you cook it thoroughly (to about 180 degrees) and you'll be fine!

Definitely wash ANY poultry before cooking. The processors allow the birds to soak in what is termed fecal soup, and absorb this broth to add weight.

You should always wash poultry. There are many pesticides and parasites that stick on them even when cooking. You should always wash first to make sure you get that all off first. Thank you.
