Fill up your schedule. Discover new hobbies. Make new friends. Hang out with old ones. The less idle time you have, the less you'll find yourself thinking of your ex.

It all depends on how long you 2 were together, if it was a long time, then it could take a year. It takes time to stop thinking about ex's sometimes. But if you haven't already, Try dating other people and getting interested in them. But the best way to do it is just to let time take its toll.

In all actuality, your mind may think of your x when things happen that bring to mind your past with them, like a certain song, TV show or item that will briefly bring back old thoughts of them...

Ex: I was married 19 years, and here it is 6 years later and some times if just for a moment I'll remember her, like on her birthday (one week after mine), and as time goes on you will tend to forget and loose track of thinking...

Just try to think of something else or the newest person in your life...

GOOD LUCK! May forget fullness Be With You...

I had issues getting over an ex and it never really went away till he did - he ended up moving to another state and the distance helped ALOT - if you are unable to be in that situation, I'd say to distance yourself as much as you can....it's hard, but the less you see of the person, the less and less they enter your mind....it gets better, it just takes awhile

Find something to occupy your free time. If you don't have any hobbies, find one. You could also do some volunteer work and think about other people. Babysit a child who will keep you busy, etc.

Keep busy! Try not to do things on your own too; I found making new friends was the key. Unfortunately "time" seems to be the answer. Too bad we can't just fastword, eh?

just preoccupy your mind with other things. i just got over the same thing, and it was A MAJOR problem for me. just keep busy with things you like to do...remove their phone number from your phone, and try to cut off all ties with them..if possible.
